- Bhagavad Gita 2.20
Shortly after adopting my dog, Diplo, I was inspired to write and illustrate a children's book
called, "The Same Paws As You" about a young dog searching for self-identification, much like myself at the time. (see more on the sticker donation page). As a young college student , I was unsure of so much, feeling tiny in this vast world. From this
place, I began to draft Diplo's story, searching for exactly what he knew all along -- the soul is vast and full of everlasting wisdom. Through writng this story, I found my self love.
Over the past couple of years, I have spent the majority of my free time, writing, re-writing, drawing, and re-drawing its pages. I spent about a year searching for
the feeling of completion until I realized, this was going to be a life long project, an ever growing collection of Paws, just the same as
you. I would love to draw your dog, and if you would like, I would love to add him or her to the group.
A dog teaches that unconditional love transcends all social categories. It pierces the veil of time and space, offering us a glimpse into the divine existence that exists at the root of all life. At the core of it all, we are all made of love. This can be easy to forget, but a dog will always remind you. Put it on paper or hang it on your wall, and forever remember their vast souls will never die, just like yours.
The Gita teaches us that pure bliss can only be found when we accept our physical impermanence and
realize the eternal knowledge of our soul. I paint murals to express my soul. While impermanent in
nature, therein lies their beauty. Commission a mural for your wall; inside or outside, either way I’ll
leave a bit of my soul on your impermanent wall.
